Dear Prudence...won't you come out and play?

Yesterday was a fun day at the concert(s). But...I'm getting OLD. I'll be 33 in precisely 7 days, and I just cannot handle being outside, in the pouring rain, trying to get into a baseball field with 45,000 of my closest friends. Then staying for 7 hours inside said baseball field. I get tired.

We started out listening to Leann Rimes, who is really great! I didn't realize how much I liked her until yesterday. I also like that she has a very happy demeanor.

THAT, I believe, is the dividing line between country and non-country shows. There's no Tortured Soul mentality! I believe that's also why I DIDN"T like country in my youth. I needed the angst! hahaha!

Anyway, then Sammy Hagar of Van Halen fame sang (huh?), then Brooks & Dunn...I think I text messaged during their show. I was getting bored. I'd been there, in my little folding chair for 3+ hours already.

FINALLY Kenny Chesney took the stage. Nothing short of AWESOME. And the best best best part was when Jennifer Nettles, of Sugarland, sang a duet with him.

Big D and I saw Jennifer Nettles, on one of our first dates, over 10 years ago, when she was with Soul Miners Daughter. So I feel like I 'discovered' her! LOL! She's the best. Go buy her music! (Sorry for the crappy You Tube video)

The strangest event of the night? Somehow, we were sitting DIRECTLY behind Ralph Reed. Name sound familiar?

That's right...the former leader of the Christian Coalition. And can I say that my sister in law and I were making barf/gag/retch faces as we watched him totally frenching his wife with visible tongue? How prudish does that make me that I'm blushing at the actions of the freakin' president of the Christian Coalition? Just call me Prudence Prudhomme.

Funny on the tongue part!

I knew I was old when I went to a concert and it was so dang LOUD. When did that seem like such a good thing?
