A post about the book club

Last night we had our monthly meeting to discuss the book Lucia, Lucia. It was ok, a Lifetime Movie kind of a book. But that's what the group requested. After the last two books, Atonement and The Book Thief, I think they wanted to lighten up a bit.

One older member commented to me last week: "I'm tired of this analysis stuff. I've already graduated from college." Ok...but I thought the point of a book club was...oh never mind, my term's almost up. Hmmm...I'm feeling a little like Dubya now!

Anyway, our meeting last night was mostly just chatting and catching up. We all admired one lady's bunion surgery scar (have I mentioned I was the youngest person there by about 25 years?)

There was a woman from out of town, visiting her sister. This lady commented to me "That's some accent you have there!" Why, um, thanks. Really, she should go to my hometown if she wants to hear some accents!

Well, I'm off. Today's a day that I don't go into the office, but little d has preschool the morning. I'm headed to the dry cleaners, to get a wedding gift for a cousin, and then back to fold and put away the laundry while watching The View. Then a bite of lunch & back to the church to pick up the kiddo.

Oh - and next month's book is The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio: How My Mother Raised 10 Kids on 25 Words or Less by Terry Ryan. One member was born in Defiance, Ohio and this book is a true story. There's a movie with Julianne Moore, which looks charming.
